In our latest webinar, Dr Kevin Woo, Advanced Wound Consultant and professor at Queen’s University School of Nursing, shares results from his recent 126-patient study (RCT) that looked at the effectiveness of soft silicone dressings in healing skin tears compared with local best practice where soft silicone dressings are not used. The skin tear study proved that dressing selection has a significant impact on patient outcomes, and Dr Woo will describe how.
Underpinning the study results are the stark challenges of skin tears as a class of injury. Often overlooked, misdiagnosed and mistreated, skin tears are acute wounds that do not always present as such. Failing to diagnose a skin tear means that complications can arise, and the wound becomes harder and more expensive to treat in addition to taking longer to heal and adversely affecting patient quality of life. Dr Woo takes an evidence-led approach to skin tears and dressing selection, and shares his clinical data as a part of this webinar.
The presentation will be followed by Dr Woo answering live audience questions.
